  • The Press Association website

    The Press Association

“The Press Association is the UK’s leading multimedia news and information provider and supplier of business-to-business media services.”

For my first contract, PA asked that I design, develop and deploy core infrastructure used to merge, and then distribute content to PA's clients.

I then managed the migration of development tools from many local authentication systems to a centralised LDAP/Active Directory based authentication system, and migration from many standard servers to a large scale virtualized infrastructure at the same time as moving from a standard DMZ to a reverse proxy based DMZ.

I later got a chance to use my own infrastructure as a member of the Virgin Media News website development team, and I was subsequently lead developer for the PA's Corporate website and CMS re-branding.

  • The Escape Committee

    The Escape Committee

Over the course of two years working at The Escape Committee on multiple contracts I was responsible for the design, implementation, and daily maintenance of their network infrastructure used to deploy and then host their clients websites, which included the Born Free Foundation, Unicef, Goldman Sachs, and Canon Europe.

As the company grew, a need for new services arose. These services included a VOIP based phone service based on the Asterisk SIP server, a centralised authentication system using the LDAP protocol and authdaemon, and a easy to manage Postfix installation with bayesian spam filtering.

  • Huge Object

    Hugeobject

Whilst living in Melbourne, Australia I was originally hired at Hugeobject to develop the website for the Million Paws Walk fundraising event, an event to raise funds at the RSPCA. Once the event was completed, I started a new contract to develop the Mothers Day Classic events website, an event to raise funds for breast cancer within Australia.

I was then contracted to design the database for Hugeobject's in-house application, Eventarc, an event registration website to sell tickets online.

  • Polartechnics

    Polartechnics

While working at Polartechnics, an Australian life sciences company involved in the research, development, manufacture and marketing of innovative medical devices for the screening of cervical tissue abnormalities and lifestyle partner related infections, I was involved in the software development, distribution, and support for their Mediscan product.
